GET ENCRYPTED EMAIL
Encrypt every email: Why email encryption is more widely used than ever.
Email encryption is no longer a foreign word to most Internet users. In fact, almost everyone has sent an encrypted email in the last few years. Reasons vary, but the outcome is the same: Slowly, but steadily, email communication is becoming more secure than it has ever been before.
New Year, new offices: We have moved.
During the Christmas holidays we have moved to new offices in Hanover. After eight years of developing Tutanota, we have on-boarded so many developers that our beloved offices in the Hanomaghof have become too cramped. Now, we are still situated in Linden-Süd with enough space to grow our team by the dozens - and that's what we are planning to do in the next eight years!
We are very happy to welcome Sara to the Tutanota Team.
Today we would like to welcome Sara to our team. As a specialist in cryptography, we are excited that Sara will make sure that Tutanota becomes a quantum-secure email service in the near future!

Birthday celebration: Here's to 8 years of Tutanota!
Tutanota is the go-to app for secure emails: With built-in encryption all data is protected, and no one but the intended recipient can read your emails - even we, the Tutanota developers, have no access. Started in 2011, Tutanota now is an email client with an encrypted address book and calendar. Matthias Pfau explains why secure communications are so important in times of all-round surveillance.
Tutanota signs Open Letter to improve e-evidence.
The EU commission has drafted a proposal for e-evidence that would allow authorities to request data from communication providers across borders. The draft in its current form is considered as way too broad by data protection professionals. Tutanota now has signed an Open Letter to the EU Parliament to include important restrictions and add a better legal oversight to the draft.

Security measures to look out for in a secure email service.
Secure email accounts are becoming more and more popular. This is mirrored by the increasing number of reviews and comparisons about secure services. But what are the security measures that you must look out for? What does it take for an email provider to qualify as secure?
How (not) to track product usage.
Unless they have specifically signed up for a behavioural profiling study, a user may not realise just how much profiling information is being gathered from the way they use a product. Tarquin Wilton-Jones, Security Expert at Vivaldi, explains how listening to users benefits product development much more than tracking users.
What should I do if registering with a Tutanota email address at an online service fails?
Most websites and online services let you register with your chosen Tutanota email address just fine. Unfortunately, we have received reports by users that some websites block Tutanota email addresses for new registrations. Nevertheless, there are several options to resolve this situation.
